# What's new in RangerOS: week of 4 September 2026

RangerOS keeps moving in small, practical steps. This week’s release is about sharing activity templates between organisations and making custom forms behave on the phones people already carry.

## Take an activity template with you

Activity templates can now export and import as JSON. A coordinator can copy a working template out of one RangerOS tenancy and bring it into another without rebuilding every field by hand.

That matters when groups share a survey design, when a new site needs the same activity shape as last season, or when a partner wants a starting point instead of a blank form.

## Custom templates hold up better on phone

Custom activity templates on Android and iOS got a stability pass.

On older Android devices, multiselect, person and asset fields submit more reliably. Jobs shorter than 15 minutes are no longer rejected as invalid. On iOS, document and plant-species fields in custom templates behave more consistently.

Field work often runs on mixed hardware. These fixes target the cases that used to waste a trip back to reception to re-enter the same record.
